Core Tip |
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease characterized by the destruction of pancreatic β cells. As research progresses, the potential relationship between T1D and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has attracted more and more attention. The study aimed to analyze the causal relationship between T1D and IBD using Mendelian randomization. Our findings indicate that T1D serves as a potential protective factor against IBD and ulcerative colitis, but is independent of Crohn’s disease. |
