Core Tip This study highlights the significant correlation between elevated serum inflammatory markers and the severity of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) in children. Key markers such as C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, lactic dehydrogenase, D-dimer, and cytokines [Interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, IL-10, tumor necrosis factor alpha] serve as valuable predictors for severe MPP, aiding in early diagnosis and improved prognosis.
