Key Words Appendix; Appendiceal neoplasm; Appendiceal cancer; Colorectal surgery; Acute appendicitis
Core Tip Despite the spread of non-operative management in selected cases of appendicitis, the risk that an inflammatory disease may be misdiagnosed with a tumor is not negligible. Preoperative work-up, interval appendectomy and follow-up strategies have a pivotal role in the prognosis and management of these patients.
