Core Tip |
Uterine artery pseudoaneurysm (UAP) is an acquired condition in which the wall of the uterine artery collapses, and the arterial wall layers engulf the blood that has leaked from the vessel[1]. UAPs generally occur after delivery or miscarriage and often cause massive hemorrhage, but cases of its occurrence unrelated to pregnancy, such as during myomectomies, have also been reported. Although UAP is rare, it is a potentially life-threatening condition that can cause massive hemorrhage when it ruptures[2]. We report our experience of uterine artery embolization (UAE) for treating a patient who developed a UAP during hysteroscopic surgery. |
