| Core Tip |
This study reveals that enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) nursing significantly improves gastrointestinal function, reduces adverse emotional states, and enhances quality of life in elderly patients with postoperative intestinal obstruction following gastric cancer surgery. By integrating ERAS with traditional nursing interventions, patients experienced faster recovery times for essential functions like eating and bowel movement, alongside notable improvements in nutritional status and psychological well-being. These findings underscore the effectiveness of ERAS in fostering a holistic recovery, suggesting its potential as a standard care component for postoperative management in this patient population. |
