| Core Tip |
In this editorial, we address the pathophysiological mechanisms associated with bariatric surgery in the remission of type 2 diabetes. Within this perspective, we discuss the hormones of the gastrointestinal tract, mainly peptide-1, which is a hormone secreted by the L cells of the gastrointestinal tract and released immediately after food intake, as well as the benefits obtained after reversing endothelial syndrome provided by bariatric surgery. |
