| Core Tip |
We identified acacetin as the key active ingredient of “Herba Patriniae and Coix seed.” Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analyses suggested that “Herba Patriniae and Coix seed” acts on colorectal cancer (CRC) through the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt signaling pathway, and molecular docking showed that the best docking effect was between acacetin and AKT1. In vitro experiment results corroborated that acacetin inhibits the proliferation and migration, and promotes apoptosis of CRC cells through the PI3K/Akt/p53 signaling pathway. |
