Core Tip |
This study investigates whether the serotonin 1A receptor polymorphism C-1019G polymorphism influences antidepressant efficacy in major depressive disorder (MDD). Despite extensive research, our meta-analysis involving 11 selected studies shows no significant correlation between this genetic variation and treatment outcomes. These findings underscore the complexity of antidepressant pharmacogenetics and highlight the need for further large-scale studies to clarify the role of genetic factors in MDD treatment response. This work contributes to the ongoing discussion and development of personalized medicine strategies in psychiatry. |
