Core Tip |
There is no firm recommendation on the management of acute liver failure due to Wilson's disease, for which liver transplantation is the only reliable treatment option. The retrospective study highlights the successful treatment of a patient with an unconventional low-dose therapy of D-penicillamine and zinc plus steroids with the aim of opening new perspectives in the management of the condition, stimulating a critical evaluation on the topic and thus promoting the use of all possible therapeutic opportunities to increase survival with the native liver. |
