Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome; Growth hormone; Magnetic resonance imaging; Liver cirrhosis |
Core Tip |
The patient with pituitary stalk interruption syndrome (PSIS) in this case showed a general decrease of anterior pituitary hormones, typical imaging findings, and excluded liver cirrhosis caused by other causes. The patient has never received any treatment for many years, which can represent the natural progression of this disease, including rare cases of osteoporosis and cirrhosis. Liver cirrhosis caused by PSIS is very rare in clinical practice, and hepatologists should be alert to PSIS when encountering patients with liver cirrhosis complicated with abnormal growth and development. |
