Standard triple therapy for H. pylori eradication showed a lower success rate (85.4%) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, compared to previous studies. Patients with prior H. pylori diagnosis, smoking, and local alcohol consumption had a lower eradication rate. Complete symptom resolution was associated with higher eradication success. This suggests the need for routine eradication confirmation tests and monitoring for symptom improvement. |
