Core Tip |
The placement of gallbladder stents is considered a technically challenging procedure and is only recommended in specialized facilities. Our findings suggest that endoscopic gallbladder stenting after percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage may simplify this technique. This approach has the potential to reduce the risk of adverse events, both immediately after the procedure and in the long term, and may be beneficial for patients with a high surgical risk. This is the first study to investigate endoscopic gallbladder stenting after percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage, which may have possible implications as a technique that could be a valuable addition to clinical treatment strategies. |
