| Core Tip |
Hepatocellular cancer (HCC) is the 6th most common cancer worldwide and the 5th most common cause of global cancer-related mortality. However, in Nigeria and other sub-Saharan African countries, most HCC patients present late with remarkably high mortality. Therefore, the best way to deal with such a situation is prevention and surveillance for early detection of cases when a cure is achievable. This editorial aim to bring to light the current HCC surveillance practices, and challenges in Nigeria and propose strategies for improvement. |
