Key Words Colorectal cancer; Prognostic factors; Cox proportional hazard regression; Lymph node ratio
Core Tip Recent reports and reviews have highlighted the importance of metastatic lymph node and Lymph node ratio (LNR) in predicting prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). We found that the histological grade, depth of bowel wall invasion, and number of metastatic lymph nodes were the most important prognostic factor for CRC without consideration of the interaction of the tumor node metastasis staging system. LNR was a powerful factor for estimating the survival of stage Ⅲ CRC. This paper presents new results on the 5-year overall survival and prognostic factors in Chinese CRC patients.
