Core Tip |
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and osteoporosis are common maladies in middle-aged and older adults. Individuals with T2DM are at a significantly higher risk of developing osteoporosis and falling and fracturing compared with healthy individuals. Sarcopenia is one of the most important factors for bone loss. A few studies have focused on the association between sarcopenia and osteoporosis in men with type 2 diabetes. Therefore, this study examined the association between sarcopenia and bone mineral density in middle-aged and elderly men with T2DM. |
