Core Tip |
This editorial focuses on the research progress regarding the gut microbiota (GM) in the development of diabetes mellitus (DM). Revealing and understanding the precise causality and mechanisms between the GM and DM may facilitate investigations focused on modifying the GM to ameliorate DM and its complications. Additionally, as a result of the considerable interindividual heterogeneity in the GM, more precise and personalized GM-targeting therapeutic interventions should be considered. |
