Core Tip This study is focused on the poorly investigated, with many controversies and almost unknown field of the vena caval dynamics. It provides findings about possible correlation between the respiratory movements and the caval haemodynamic characteristics. This knowledge may have many clinical applications on therapeutic minimally invasive strategies, especially for the study of intravenous devices.
