Key Words Inflammatory bowel disease; Colorectal cancer; 72 codon single nucleotide polymorphism; Tumor protein 53; rs1042522
Core Tip Tumor protein 53 (TP53) codon 72 poly-morphism distribution was analyzed by RFLP in 461 inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), 181 primary sclerosing cholangitis patents and in 62 healthy controls. The data suggests that the TP53 codon 72 Arg/Arg genotype is associated with increased risk for IBD development.
