Core Tip |
The incidence of tuberculosis (TB) in patients who underwent gastrectomy was found to be more than two-times higher than that in the general population. Also, we found that a previous TB infection [odds ratio (OR) = 7.1, P < 0.001], gastrectomy extent (total gastrectomy vs subtotal gastrectomy) (OR = 3.48, P = 0.017) and lower body mass index (kg/m2; OR = 1.21, P = 0.043) were significant risk factors for TB after gastrectomy in gastric cancer.
