Key Words Antimicrobial agents; Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells; Osteogenesis; Chondrogenesis; Adipogenesis
Core Tip Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are essential for tissue repair (bone, cartilage, and medullary adipose tissue) after local bone and joint infection. The effects of various antimicrobial agents on the three types of differentiation potentials (osteogenesis, chondrogenesis, and adipogenesis) of bone marrow-derived MSCs are worth noting. Here in this paper, we collected the latest updates on the use of antimicrobial agents to regulate the differentiation of MSCs.
