Core Tip In recent decades, the potential role of gut microbiome in modulating host homeostasis has gained considerable attention. This is the first report of microbiota composition in systemic-onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis (SoJIA) children. Our results demonstrate that the composition of the intestinal microbiota is different in SoJIA patients compared with healthy children. The perturbed microbiota present partially restoration in inactive status. Characterizing intestinal microbiomes may help to understand the pathogenesis of SoJIA. Modifications of the Microbiota may be a new way of preventing and managing SoJIA.
