Core Tip Persistent abnormalities of glucose and lipid metabolism in childhood have a well-established association with adulthood cardiovascular diseases. Previous conclusions about the association between quality of life (QoL) and glycolipid metabolism disorder were almost all based on adults with type 2 diabetes or dyslipidaemia, whereas there is limited evidence for the association between QoL and glycolipid metabolism disorder in healthy children and adolescents. This study found that a poor QoL score was associated with increased insulin, triglyceride, and IR levels, and the association was more significant in males than in females. In addition, seven domains, four factors, and total QoL score were negatively associated with abnormalities in glucose and lipid metabolism. Measures to improve the QoL of adolescents are essential to reduce the prevalence of glycolipid metabolism disorder.
