Core Tip The clinical management of a majority of chronic diseases, except chronic pancreatitis (CP), has seen a paradigm shift over the last two decades. To date, a well-defined standard of care has not been established for patients with CP. Lack of sufficient scientific evidence regarding the use of antioxidant supplementation provides opportunities to repurpose drugs in trials. Statins and N-acetylcysteine are two promising molecules for the treatment of CP.
