Core Tip |
CD24 is a significant immune regulatory mediator of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Some recent studies have demonstrated that CD24 gene polymorphisms are associated with the susceptibility to IBD, but the findings of other studies are contradictory. The present study sought to provide a more precise estimate of this potential association. A meta-analysis of Caucasian cohorts found that the CD24 C170T polymorphism was associated with the susceptibility to UC and that the CD24 TG1527del polymorphism was associated with CD. |
