Core Tip |
The progression of gastric cancer is closely related to the hypoxic tumor microenvironment. In the present study, we found the expression levels of prolyl 4-hydroxylase beta (P4HB) and hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) were significantly increased in gastric cancer tissue, and patients with high P4HB and HIF-1α expression had an increased risk of death and relapse compared with patients with low P4HB and HIF-1α expression after adjusting for potential confounders. Based on our research, we suggest that higher expression of P4HB and HIF-1α promotes risk of death and relapse and may act as an indicator of prognosis in patients with gastric cancer. |
