Core Tip Widening of the pubic joint of more than 10 millimetres is diagnostic and defined as the pubic symphysis diastasis and considered a complication of the vaginal child-birth or pregnancy. As it is a rare pathology and no gold standard treatment is de-fined, we present two clinical cases of severe pain in the pubic region after labour, accompanied by complicated locomotion. Pubic symphysis diastasis was confirmed radiologically in both cases and conservative treatment was recommended. No posi-tive effect of conservative treatment was observed, thus surgical treatment was cho-sen and the internal pubic synthesis was performed. These cases highlight that the standardisation for conservative and surgical treatment or studies of possible com-plications have not been defined, therefore postoperative infections are likely to complicate surgical treatment. Overall, our findings reveal the significance of an ac-curate choice between conservative and surgical treatment due to possible compli-cations after surgical intervention such as infection, loose screws, fistula and repeat-ed surgical management.
