Core Tip |
Several studies have compared the safety and feasibility of laparoscopic surgery and open surgery for early gallbladder carcinoma. This systematic review and meta-analysis, including 7 comparative studies and 8 non-comparative studies, found that laparoscopic surgery is a safe and feasible alternative to open surgery with comparable 1-, 3-, 5-year survival and operation-related outcomes for early gallbladder carcinoma. However, more prospective studies should be performed due to the limited sample size and lack of recurrence data. |
