| Core Tip |
It is not known whether postoperative complications after liver transplant (LT) are associated with poorer long-term survival. The objective of the present study is therefore to analyse the possible influence of postoperative complications on the long-term survival of LT patients. A retrospective study of 164 LT patients was conducted, analysing complications and grading them by means of the Clavien classification and the comprehensive complication index (CCI). We found that a complicated postoperative period – well-defined by means of the CCI score – can influence not only short-term survival, but also long-term survival. |
