Core Tip |
Phyllodes tumours (PTs) are fibroepithelial breast tumour. In this paper, we report a unique case that a female patient presented a rapidly expanding breast PT. This case shows that a giant benign PT may reveal the malignant features. All of clinical manifestations and image examinations induced us misdiagnosed as malignant tumours. But the pathological diagnosis of the tumour after complete excision confirmed as benign PT eventually. And the lung node proved to be adenocarcinoma rather than metastatic tumour. We also summarize and analyze 12 cases. And the results remind us not to be fooled by appearances. All the conditions should be considered to make an accurate diagnosis, so as to help patients with accurate treatment and avoid excessive treatment. |
