Core Tip |
Many different surgical procedures have been developed to treat patients with obstructed defecation syndrome (ODS), which mainly include transperineal and transabdominal approaches, and no optimal procedure has been identified for all patients to date. Abdominal rectopexy with colectomy is controversial. And it has not been reported whether the procedure of abdominal ventral rectopexy combined with an additional colon resection provide better functional results in the treatment of ODS. Therefore, we reported our preliminary experience of abdominal ventral rectopexy with an additional colectomy to evaluate its safety and efficacy for selected patients with ODS. |
