Core Tip There is also a randomized trials that justifies the inclusion of metabolic surgery into the treatment algorithm for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Otherwise remission rates of type 2 diabetes mellitus after metabolic surgery can be seen greater variability. To discuss the most commonly used surgical options including vertical sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric banding, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal swicth. This paper can clarify the unknown issues of metabolic surgery and remission criterias of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
