Core Tip |
COVID-19 is a disease that has as gold standard diagnostic method the viral RNA detection through PCR. On the other hand, techniques such as serology with detection of IgM and IgG antibodies, imaging and laboratory tests also assist in the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Moreover, the RT-LAMP has similar specificity and sensibility to PCR. In this review, we discuss the main diagnostic methods and their uses in the current pandemic. |
