Core Tip |
Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) are a heterogeneous group of cells with immunosuppressive abilities. MDSCs inhibit T cell function and regulate immune responses in cancer and autoimmune diseases. Therapeutic administration of MDSCs in the mouse models of multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes has shown promising results. Thus, MDSCs have potential in cell-based treatments of autoimmune disorders. However, the role of MDSCs in autoimmunity is complex and not fully understood. Further studies are needed before new therapies can be implemented. |
