Core Tip |
A large database has been analyzed to investigate survival outcomes related to the lymph node assessment in locally advanced gastric cancer patients who underwent radical gastrectomy. Independent of TNM-stage, the group with assessment of < 16 lymph nodes (LNs) showed a significantly worse survival than the other two groups analyzed (16-29 LNs; ≥ 30 LNs). Stage migration due to inadequate specimen analysis and improper lymphadenectomy are the main root cause. |
