Core Tip |
Lumbar disc herniation is a common condition in orthopedics. It is defined as displacement of disc material beyond its anatomical space and the formation of an isolated disc when the herniated disc is detached from the parent disc. Disc sequestration refers to migration of a herniated disc fragment into the epidural space with complete separation from the parent disc. Here, we report four cases of disc sequestration mimicking a spinal tumor. All of the patients underwent surgery, and the postoperative pathology showed intervertebral disc tissue. All four cases had an uneventful postoperative course and recovered completely within 3 months. |
