Core Tip |
In spite of the unambiguous pathogenic roles of C-reactive protein (CRP)and complement factor H (CFH) in lupus nephritis (LN), our present study involving a Chinese population has failed to reveal any significant associations of their genetic variations with LN risk. These findings suggest that most genetic variations of CRP and CFH might possess limited biological effects on their expressions or activities and are thus not sufficient to influence the disease course of LN. Overall, we concluded that genetic variations of CRP and CFH could not be used to improve the risk stratification of LN in Chinese population. |
