Core Tip |
Studies have shown that neonates have rare evidence of liver damage, and in terms of age, they show the least amount of liver damage in the face of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among affected people. Also, many studies reported different patterns of liver damage among children with COVID-19 much less than in adults, which is probably related to differences in their innate immune system and adaptation. The highest rate of liver damage is in adult patients and aspartate aminotransferase levels had the highest relevance with mortality compared to other indices reflecting liver injury. |
