| Core Tip |
In this study of adult patients undergoing morning colonoscopy, split-dose administration of reduced-volume polyethylene glycol electrolyte lavage solution (PEG-ELS) plus bisacodyl was found to be as effective but better tolerated than whole-dose taken on the same morning. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time these regimes have been compared. Moreover, bowel preparation using split-dose reduced-volume PEG-ELS has not been reported before although there have been many studies comparing split-dose and previous-evening whole-dose regimes using larger volumes of PEG-ELS. We believe the findings of this study will be of interest to those in related fields. |
