A systematic review and meta-analysis of the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases among the geriatric population in India from the year 2003 to year 2019 reveals that there is a higher prevalence of cardiovascular diseases among the female’s geriatric population (40.9%) as compared to male’s geriatric population (38.0%). Also, the measures of consistency such as I2 and Cochran’s Q suggest heterogeneity between the studies. It must raise an alarm for health care professionals to take immediate steps for improving the geriatric health care services in India. |
