Core Tip |
This was a case-control study that assessed the clinical outcomes of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in liver transplant recipients. Our study did not show a significant difference in death or hospitalization rate due to COVID-19 between patients who had liver transplantation and those who did not. Our study also did not find any difference between these two groups in terms of duration of hospital stay, need for supplemental oxygen, presence of at least one type of end-organ damage, effect on liver enzymes, and d-dimer levels. Therefore, COVID-19 should not impact timely health care access and immunosuppression continuation among liver transplant recipients. |
