Core Tip |
Peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) is an aggressive and rare disease that belongs to a heterogeneous group of mature T-cell lymphomas, and is classified as PTCL, not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS). It is the most common type and most often involves nodal sites; however, many patients present with extranodal involvement, including the liver, bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract, and skin. The clinical presentations of PTCL are lymphadenopathy syndrome and B symptoms (night sweats, fever, and weight loss). Noncirrhotic portal hypertension, hydrothorax and ascites can also occur in rare cases, and noncirrhotic portal hypertension and ascites are less common as first symptoms. Here, we report a rare case of a patient with PTCL who presented with noncirrhotic portal hypertension. |
